Membership in the League of Women Voters, one of the most respected and effective grassroots organizations in the country, is open to all people age 16 and older.  

Your League of Women Voters of Marquette County membership includes:

The LWV membership portal does not require a password.  It sends a confirmation code to your email when you log in. 

  • The preferred payment option is a direct bank transfer (ACH transfer), which minimizes fees. You’ll need your financial institution’s routing number and your account number
  • You also have the option to pay by credit or debit card.

The transactions are processed securely using Stripe. 

 

You will receive online confirmation and an email receipt for your payment.  Your membership dues payment will show up as three transactions on your account (one each to the local, state and national Leagues). 

 

Membership Dues
  • Individual members: $75 per year is the recommended amount, or pay what you can ($20 minimum).
  • You can add a second member ($150 total for both recommended, $40 for both minimum), but they each will need to provide a unique email address.
  • Life members: In appreciation of their dedication to democracy, Life Members (members for more than 50 years) are exempt from membership dues.

Your membership dues are split between the local Marquette County (20%),  the state Michigan (47%), and the national, US (33%) Leagues.  

Dues are paid annually, renewable on your Join Date anniversary each year.

Questions about League Membership?

The LWV of Marquette County regularly offers new member orientation sessions you can attend to learn more about the League and the volunteer opportunities available. 

Many members choose to support the League only with their annual dues. Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change. We cover a broad spectrum of issues and concerns; you may choose to become involved in one or more of them by actively participating in community voter education table events, candidate forums, listening to a panel of experts at a meeting, or just reading about them in one of our publications.
