DON’T BE FOOLED BY MISLEADING BALLOT PROPOSAL NAMES

The League has partnered with other pro-democracy groups and citizens urging voters not to sign petitions calling for documentary proof of citizenship.  These petitions are sponsored by the “Committee to Protect Voter Rights” and “Americans for Citizen Voting-Michigan.”  Don’t be fooled by the misleading names!  State and federal laws already prohibit non-citizens from voting.  These proposals would tangle voters up in unnecessary red tape and make it more difficult for all of us to register to vote and to make our voices heard at the ballot box.  If you see these petitions – decline to sign!  For more information, click here.
