Hundreds of votes have been cast, and the results are in! 🐠

The LWVMC’s Voter Services Committee participated in three local events and, through our “Hooked on Voting” educational activity, encouraged attendees to vote for their favorite fish to determine the community’s most popular fish. 🐠

At the Marquette Maritime Museum’s Lake Superior Day celebration, Blueberry Festival, and the Marquette Township Community Day, willing participants cast their votes, and more than 550 votes were counted.
The Brook Trout (“Brookie”) emerged as the overall winner of the combined Hooked on Voting elections, earning 88 votes. Two write-in candidates, Sturgeon and Rainbow Trout, finished second and third with 80 and 73 votes, respectively. 🐟

The LWVMC would like to thank everyone who voted and stopped by our election information booth to learn more about Vote411, general voting information, and questions. We would also like to thank the community sponsors, supporters, and volunteers who helped make these events possible. 🐡

We would like to extend a special thank you to Zonta for supporting Hooked on Voting at Blueberry Festival. Plus, thank you to Allison Hadjis for sharing her wonderful fish art with us! 🐠
